We are very privileged in Ilminster to have the beautiful Church of St Mary situated in the heart of the town.  It stands proud above the main street and is part of the daily lives of the people of Ilminster whether they are shopping, going to school or work.  Visitors to the Church find that it is an oasis of calm in a very busy and noisy world.

Services are held here every Sunday, when well over 100 worshippers enjoy the fellowship of other Christians and leave feeling refreshed and uplifted.  During the week the Church is open as often as possible and there are daily services as well.  Also it is used for services which mark major changes in everyone’s lives, Christenings, Weddings and Funerals, and these bring many new people into the building.  Over the year several different organisations use the Church to celebrate various events.  Greenfylde School are often in there and Ilminster Old Boys and Girls have a yearly service.

We all know what a wonderful place St Mary’s is, how it can have a calming influence, or be inspirational.  As part of our Outreach we intend to see far more people come into the building.

We really need your help, please encourage your friends and neighbours to enjoy this wonderful place.  

Please think of any new activities that would persuade as many people as possible to appreciate St Mary’s as much as we do.
